Desserts
The other night after dinner, I was craving something sweet. Since I don't keep any pre-made sweets at home, I have to make dessert if I want dessert! So with only 4 ingredients, I came up with something simple that I'm going to share with you today.
The portion size is teeny tiny, but just enough to satisfy your taste buds.
What's awesome is that this dessert is high in fat and protein (so it'll fill you up) and it's cleanse-friendly (so you won't feel bloated or experience a sugar hangover afterward).
Gotta love desserts that are healthy enough to eat at any time of day! These delicious cookies don't require refrigeration either, so consider taking them to work with you or packing them in your carry-on if you're looking for a convenient snack while traveling. (Btw, they are waaay healthier than most of the bars on the store shelves!)
Enjoy!
HEADS UP: This dessert is TINY (as I believe all desserts should be!) If you can't shake your desire for sweets and want a little something to take the edge off, you'll love this mini dessert.
It reminds me of Snickerdoodle cookies but with only a fraction of the sugar.
This will hit the spot if you're looking for a small snack or dessert. Its smooth consistency reminds me of pumpkin pie filling (sans the cream, eggs, and sugar). The pumpkin is packed with beta carotene and fiber, while the sunflower seed butter (or almond butter) adds healthy fat and protein.
The prep is easy. All you need is a few basic pantry ingredients, a bowl and a spoon. The fanciest kitchen equipment you'll need are measuring spoons and a can opener!
This recipe is gluten-free, dairy-free, sugar-free, AND won't make you feel bloated afterward. You can eat it for breakfast or dessert and still feel fantastic.
I'm a huge fan of single-serving desserts. So in today's post, I'm going to share my 4-bite, 4-ingredient dessert that is super easy to make.
You'll never believe these are gluten-free! Great snack to bring to a party or to serve as dessert on Thanksgiving. You can serve in slices as Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Bread, but I preferred cutting them into bite-size squares. They were a hit at the Thanksgiving Eve dinner party I attended tonight!
If you have a food processor, you have homemade ice cream. Below I've compiled all of my ice cream recipes to date. They are SO easy to make that you can whip up a batch of this healthy treat in less than the time it'd take to drive to the store and buy a pint of mucus-forming, belly bloating, frozen junk "food".
Never in a million years would anyone guess that these delicious brownies contain black beans. You'll know what I mean when you make them :)
Make these for your next potluck or serve them for dessert at your next dinner party. Not only will your guests love them, but they won't believe you when you tell them what the secret ingredient is!
Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream was one of my favorite flavors of ice cream growing up, especially during the hot and humid New York summers. So naturally I had to make a healthier version :)
In less than the amount of time it'd take for you to drive to the grocery store or ice cream shop, you can whip up this tasty (and nutritious) version in the comfort of your own home.
Are you in the mood for some smooth, creamy, cold, delicious, refreshing ice cream but don't want to feel heavy or gross afterward? Do you have a dairy intolerance or perhaps you're trying to cut dairy out of your diet? If so, this super easy Chocolate Soft Serve Ice Cream recipe is for you. It's the perfect summer treat that won't make your skin breakout or contribute to digestive distress like conventional dairy-based ice creams might.
It requires only 2 ingredients and less than 5 minutes of your time (including clean-up!)
Frozen bananas are awesome to have on hand for when you're in the mood for a refreshing smoothie or some guilt-free, dairy-free ice cream, especially now that the hot summer weather is approaching. One mistake I often see people make is freezing their bananas before peeling them or freezing their bananas whole without chopping them up first. Below is a super simple step-by-step photo illustration of how to freeze bananas so they are smoothie and dessert ready!
I am a huge fan of recipes that don't require use of an oven. Because coconut oil solidifies in cool temperatures, all you need is a freezer or refrigerator to make this simple dessert recipe stick together. This recipe takes only about 15 minutes from start to finish!
Not all chocolate is created equal.
That's why sometimes it's touted as a health food and other times we hear we should run the other way.
In this post, I'm going to share with you some things to look for in chocolate so you can choose the most nutritious kind and enjoy it guilt-free.
Confession: I have a tough time resisting sweets that are sitting around the apartment. I don't know about you, but mine tend to whisper "Eat me...Eat me..." every time I walk by. This was a lot more challenging when I lived with roommates, but now that I live alone, I set myself up for success by not keeping these "trigger foods" in the apartment to begin with. But you see, I don't feel like I'm depriving myself at all. Why? Because over the years I've discovered the art of making desserts in single serving sizes that not only satisfy my post-meal craving for something sweet, but that don't make me feel disgusting afterward.
This is my "go-to" sugar-free dessert when I'm craving something after dinner that will satisfy me without derailing my healthy eating efforts. When I was a kid, I had a Chia Head (true story) but it wasn't until decades later that I learned that the same chia seeds that grew massive amounts of "hair" on my Chia Head were also nutritional powerhouses
This Berry Mango Sorbet is a refreshing hit for both kids and adults alike. Skip the ice cream and try this super easy, delicious, cooling, summer treat instead.
Looking for a dish that will satisfy your craving for cooling ice cream or creamy pudding? Then this recipe is for you! Feel free to dig in at any time of day because the nutrition profile of this delicious treat gets an A+.
My taste tester (whose introduction to the raw, vegan, gluten-free world was practically non-existent until he spent a few hours with me food shopping and prepping food for the week just prior to tasting this recipe) was impressed that such simple ingredients could result in such a tasty dish and gave it his 100% approval.
All you need is one to satisfy the urge for peanut buttery chocolatey goodness.
The serving size may be small, but this recipe packs a minty punch!
WARNING: It's nearly impossible to eat just one of these
This is one of my all-time favorite dessert recipes. A real crowd pleaser at potlucks and parties. Enjoy!
This recipe takes less than 5 minutes to prepare. Not only is it suitable for those of us chocolate-lovers who are strapped for time, but it doesn't require any fancy equipment (e.g. food processor, blender) or even an oven.
This recipe was the solution to an "I-have-a potluck-to-go-to-but-don't-have-enough-time-to-go-to-the-store-first" dilemma. It took less than 5 minutes and was a huge hit. If the Raw Chocolate Mousse is too rich for you, this is a lighter (and easier) version. Enjoy!
This recipe is a huge hit, especially during the holidays. I've made this pie for countless potlucks and people can't believe that there's no cream, sugar, artificial sweeteners, or baking involved! It's raw, gluten-free, and absolutely delicious.
This dessert is so good, it should be illegal.
I thought the original Banana "Ice Cream" was the best of the best, but that was before I discovered this delectable treat. I seriously thought I was eating real ice cream when I took my first bite. The taste and the texture is unreal!

This dessert recipe has turned into one of my favorites. It's TINY and you'll finish it in a couple of bites, but it should satisfy your desire for something sweet and indulgent.
It contains healthy fats to satisfy your cravings and it's low in sugar so it won't trigger an all out sugar binge.
